Description

Effer C contains vitamin C, specially buffered with calcium, magnesium and potassium and makes an effervescent drink when mixed with water or juice. Vitamin C has numerous biological functions. Foremost, it helps in the formation of connective tissue, as vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen. It is this role of vitamin C in the formation of connective tissue that makes it essential for the development and maintenance of bones, cartilage, teeth and gums. Vitamin C is the required coenzyme for two groups of enzymes that catalyze the cross-linking of collagen fibers making vitamin C essential for wound healing. Vitamin C is among the most powerful antioxidants as laboratory studies show that vitamin C protects lipids in plasma and low-density lipoproteins (LDL) against atherogenic peroxidative damage.
