Research has shown that they have potent anti-inflammatory, anti-allergy, anti-bacterial, anti-thrombotic and anti-oxidant abilities, capable of inhibiting LDL cholesterol oxidation. When combined with vitamin C, their health-promoting capacities are even greater.
Bioflavonoids, including rutin, work synergistically with vitamin C to improve the integrity of blood vessels, capillaries and the cardiovascular system as a whole. Specifically, bioflavonoids inhibit the oxidation of vitamin C, thereby having a sparing effect on the crucial nutrient.
