Commonly known as sweet wormwood, “Qinghao”, Artemisia annua has been used as a basic ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine. Artemisinin, the main component of A. Annua, has been widely used as an antimalarial agent.
The Artemisia plant besides artemisinin, contains other bioactives such as sesquiterpene lactones, which could have antihelminthic properties.
Artemisinin SAP can be used as a digestive aid supported by its traditional use in phytotherapy as a bitter tonic.
