Description
Black cohosh (Actaea racemosa) is native to Canada and the United States.
Black cohosh has also been used traditionally to help relieve the pain associated with menstruation and relieve symptoms associated with menopause and premenstrual symptoms. A part of this effect can be attributed to the high content of triterpene glycosides in black cohosh, which may help lower levels of luteinizing hormone and activate dopaminergic receptors.
