Myo-inositol is a powerful tool for improving ovary function in PCOS patients. Acting as a precursor to inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (InsP3), it regulates hormones and promotes oocyte maturation. Additionally, it aids in the production of inositolphosphoglycans (IPG), which activate enzymes for glucose metabolism. In a clinical trial with 42 PCOS patients, those who consumed 4 g of myo-inositol daily along with 400 mcg of folic acid experienced more ovulation cycles (69.5% compared to 21% for the folic acid alone group) and had lower testosterone levels and improved insulin sensitivity.
